Over Kellet Jubilee Bells Project

This is a community project to replace the current 3 bells in St Cuthbert’s Church, Over Kellet, which have not been rung for a number of years because they are unsafe, with a ring of 8 bells, donated from a closed church near Accrington. One of the current bells, dated 1499, is to be retained and restored and hung alongside the ‘new’ 8 bells and will be rung as a single ‘service’ bell. Part of the project cost is also to create a new ringing room/classroom and install moveable sound insulation shutters to allow bell-ringing to be taught properly without disturbing the neighbours
