Padworth Village Hall, Nr Reading - Refurbishment (2993/D)

The principal aims of the project are: 1) To improve the fabric and interior of the hall. The hall was built in 1949 with the limited building materials available in the post-war period. It is now in poor condition (though structurally sound). The main components are to remove the existing asbestos roof and replace with a well-insulated lightweight roof, remove the weather-boarding from the walls and replace with modern insulated panels and render, renew the porch, replace the ceiling and renew the electrical system. The Trust grant will contribute towards the refurbishment costs.
