Parish and Community Centre Redevelopment

The aim of this project is to redevelop an existing building into a Parish and Community Centre with facilities to meet the needs of the user groups who currently meet in the building. There is only one outside toilet and no hot water to the toilet wash hand basin or the kitchen. There is a small heater which is inadequate for the size of the main room. The kitchen facilities are poor with only one small and very old gas cooker. The property is currently used by a range of people from differing ages and ethnic backgrounds. There are also a number of groups who would like to use the property when it is refurbished. More than 6,000 people each year use the building. There is scope for this number to more than triple. When the refurbishment is complete there is the possibility of employing a Centre Manager to keep the building in good order and arrange bookings. The work to refurbish the building can be done in phases. The first phase has started.
