Park Gate Down Nature Reserve, Kent – Orchid Gate Project

This project will create 1ha and restore 5ha of internationally important chalk grassland, and restore 2ha of mixed uneven aged scrub and secondary woodland at Park Gate. Infrastructure improvements will bring the site’s 8ha of mixed habitats under sustainable conservation management; enriching biodiversity, supporting key species and strengthening ecological networks across the wider landscape. Volunteers will be engaged to support habitat work, maintenance and monitoring.
