Park Hall – Gateway to Birminghams Rivers

The mile long Park Hall Nature Reserve lies between the M6 and the River Tame on the edge of Birmingham. The reserve plays an important role in ameliorating floods lower down the River Tame. Introduction of sustainable grazing management to a large area of currently ungrazed flood plain grassland, using longhorn cattle.
Creation of new scrapes and pools to further diversify habitat and create additional opportunities for invertebrates and wading birds in the flood plain. Active management of habitats for key wetland species known to be on the site including great crested newt, otter and water vole.
The management of public access to control the impact on biodiversity.
