Park Roots – Growing in the Community

The project will enable a variety of community groups (youth, special needs, mental health, probation, older people) to learn about wildlife, plantlife , growing flowers, fruit and vegetables. The land will be developed into a relaxing, area that will encourage people to enjoy the outdoor area with local groups and volunteers maintaining and informing the users of the benefits. Raised beds will be created to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to get involved. The project will will extend knowledge of food cultivation and its relationship to health; enable low-income groups to achieve greater self-sufficiency; and provide opportunities for skill acquisition and training.
