Parkfield Community Recreation and Arts Association.

The group wishes to undertake building renovation and redecoration to transform the centre into a more suitable facility for the many elderly, infirm residents who curretnly use it. The group particularly wishes to upgrade the kitchen, toilet and heating facilities. The centre is in a dilapidated state and in desperate need of an upgrade. The group has spoken to current users, including an elderly residents social group. Many of the elderly people find the facilities extremely uncomfortable, particularly the toilets and the lack of heating. There is a real demand for improved kitchen facilities. Both Asian and African community organisations would run healthy eating classes from the kitchen if it were refurbished. An upgrade to the centre would also encourage greater use of the creche facilities and the computer training room.
