Parkridge Play Area

Our project will enhance the outdoor experience for our visitors, in particular families, who spend time at our Parkridge Centre in Solihull. We want to update and improve the existing playground which is over 10 years old. It is showing signs of wear and tear and some elements had to be removed as they were damaged and dangerous. We want to improve the playground by installing a new natural play area and trail which will encourage the children and their families to explore the whole site to learn about nature. We want to incorporate a natural and sensory theme that will appeal to all children but will be particularly beneficial for those who respond well to sensory stimulation, such as children with autism. To further enrich the visitor experience we will develop a picnic area in the heart of the woodland area which overlooks our dragonfly pond so people can sit outside and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the nature reserve
