Parrs Wood Centre – Restoration of the Pond and Surrounding Area

Our 35 year old pond has been unused and neglected for the past 8 years. Plant growth, both in and around, has become rampant and needs cleaning or pruning. The water level has dropped considerably, and there is a 1/2 metre layer of mud and decaying vegetation in the bottom. The wooden bridge has been vandalised and needs replacing. Access and safety features need addressing – cleaning brambles and nettles, repairing a supporting wall, felling dead and unsafe trees. The feeder drains may need cleaning. Cutting back overhanging trees and thinning is necessary to increase light and improve drainage
