Pathway Improvements West End Park Airdrie

The “Friends group” will provide, within our park, a facility from which all the community can gain benefit.
We propose to upgrade the existing red ash footpath which is over sixty years old and no longer fit for purpose. The pathway will be re-laid using recycled granite sets. The sets were removed from Airdrie town centre and were earmarked for landfill. North lanarkshire Council agreed with our suggestion that the sets would have a benefit for the West End park and have provided them at no cost to the group.
We have at present several walking trails within the park and this initiative will improve access for all
