Peewits Nursery – helping lapwing chicks grow and thrive

Newton Marsh is used each year by lapwing as a nest site. Our project aims to boost nest productivity by careful management of the land during the breeding season. We will manage and maintain an electric fence to protect nesting birds from predators. We will ensure suitable grazing of the site to produce an ideal habitat. We will monitor and record bird numbers, and train volunteers in conservation management.
