Pellon Activity Centre, Outdoor Room and Garden Area

Pellon Action Network (PAN) has obtained ‘Action Halifax’ SRB funding to refurbifsh a semi-derelict former youth centre, into a multi-use activity centre from which the whole community can benefit. As part of this, the group has developed proposals for the exterior of the building; this extends partway onto land designated as protected open space i.e is “considered to make a significant contribution to public amenity” in a substantial area of Primary Housing. This is to be annexed for outdoor space at the community centre – encouraging relaxing activities and informal recreation, provision of a communal garden area, and to provide a new link into the wider open space encouraging its additional use.
