Pennine Haymeadows

A Yorkshire Pennine ‘local seeds’ project to address an increasingly scarce natural resource – upland hay meadows, one of the rarest grassland communities in UK. The project will regenerate existing and create new upland hay meadows in Calderdale. This will meet Action Plan targets for restoration of unimproved grassland, and have a positive impact on the status of other priority species of Conservation Concern such as the Twite (Red List) and upland waders (Amber List).
