People’s History Museum, Manchester – Toilets & Access

PHM’s next programme explores disabled people’s rights and activism, developed entirely by people with lived experience. The aim is for the building to become an exemplar for access. Funding is sought to improve the public facilities following an access audit and repair of this heritage building.

Manchester Disabled People’s Action Group conducted an audit of this public building to identify improvements to physical and sensory access for visitors. The audit has been prioritised by their Steering Group with toilets and entrance as top priority as the most obvious barriers for disabled visitors.
