Peopleton Community Orchard

Purchase 3.3acres of orchard land.
Work with the local community to re-instate the traditional orchard. Much of the orchard has been cleared in the past but several significant perry pear trees are still standing. The site lies within the heart of the village of Peopleton and residents have expressed an interest in working with VLHT to save teh existing trees and re-instate a traditional, mixed fruit orchard, to bring people together while preserving a little aprt of teh village heritage.
We will seek funding for fruit trees and stock-proof guards to re-create a mixed orchard of apple, pear and plum trees to be managed with the local community. The grassland in the orchard will be managed to increase wildflowers, improving the site for pollinators.
