Projects / Performance Hall Upgrade

Performance Hall Upgrade

The project relates to the upstairs performance hall used for live performance involving music. The hall started life as a cinema in 1920, but became redundant around 1960. It was restored for the creative arts in 2001 by Nexus Trust, but the upstairs heating failed in the winter of 2010. Temperatures vary enormously and can be uncomfortably cold in winter, whilst very hot during performances. This is deterring potential users of the hall. The proposed solution is to install air con units, which will ensure that a comfortable temperature can be maintained. This will allow the hall to continue to be a significant venue promoting the creative arts.
