Petteril Bank Community Centre Community Garden

Petteril Bank Community Garden in the Upperby ward of Carlisle is viewed as a deprived area within the City. This project will remove an existing area of paving to create a sensory garden for use by all members of the local community. An adjacent overgrown shrubbery will be cleared and re-planted with more suitable plants that are visually attractive all year round as well as being beneficial to wildlife. The aims of the project are: * Provide a good quality outside space incorporating a range of sensory stimuli for use by all members of the local community. * Creation of an area that children from the adjacent nursery can use for play and exploration. * To provide an educational resource for the school * Create a range of wildlife habitats to help increase local biodiversity.
