Philips Park LNR – Access and Conservation Improvements Project

Philips Park is the largest nature reserve in Bury but many areas are underused by visitors.
The project aims to improve the paths and signage to allow better access for the general public and school groups. Repair and restoration work to the dry stone walls within the Park improves the appearance to the visitor but also reflects the importance of these boundary walls in a historical context. The repair work could be used as an opportunity to run a dry stone wall training course for members of the public with leadership from a qualified craftsman.
