Phyto-remediation applications to landfill and metal contaminated sites linked with metal recovery.

Establish suitable plants for the removal of contaminants (e.g. heavy metals) using phyto-remediation coupled with other techniques e.g. thermal processes for concentration of bio-harvest in the process plant residue. Utilising waste heat recovery will be examined in this project as a part of sustainable development. The ultimate aim is to recover metal as a feed stock for the commerical metal recovery industry.
