Pilsley Miners’ Welfare Sports Ground – Pavilion Renewal

The current pavilion is 100 years old. It is in very poor repair and is too small to cope with the growing needs and demands of the youth sports clubs which are expanding in the village. The current condition of the pavilion is constraining sports participation & development in the community.
We are seeking a contribution to the costs of demolishing the existing pavilion and building a new one for which outline planning permission has already been secured.
A new pavilion will meet the needs of the expanding sports clubs – football, bowls, cricket & wheeled sports. If not renewed, many young people will be prevented from participating in sports activities in their community, facing social exclusion & extra travel costs in finding healthy pastimes.
