Pinehurst Recreational Improvements

The project includes a new enclosed toddler’s play area with traditional timber style equipment, set within a ‘playful landscape’ and an open junior playful area. This would be achieved by combining natural landscape features with subtle play structures. Informal seating would take the form of bespoke structures that can be used by teenagers to socialise. Replacement posts are required to replace rusted goal posts. A central path would link the facilities together starting from the main entrance that will be opened up to improve access and visibility.

Landscaping within and around the play area will include items such as small tree planting, sensory shrub planting, grass mounds, boulders and dry moats with timber bridges and chainsaw carvings which will tie in with the woodland.

The natural landscape theme includes planting that will benefit the wildlife and will define an informal circuit for dog walkers (with dog waste bins). The local dog warden will assist with a campaign around dog fouling.
