PitchPerfect

Beith Community Development Trust (BCDT) operates Beith Astro – a grassroots sports facility, as a community enterprise. ‘PitchPerfect’ is a project which aims to reduce the energy consumption and Co2 emissions of the facility which will, as a consequence, reduce participation costs in grass roots sports and physical activity via reduced operational costs to BCDT The existing lighting systems the systems were built at a time where the impact on the environment was not fully understood, they are inefficient and expensive to run. ‘PitchPerfect’ will upgrade existing inefficient lighting systems with energy efficient technologies which reduce costs, energy consumption and Co2 emissions. ‘PitchPerfect’ will compliment BCDT’s ongoing community initiatives which encourage people to take on new ways of working which reduce the carbon footprint of the community
