Pittville Gates Restoration Project

To restore the historic Pittville Gates to their original condition and to improve the surrounding area, so that

• Cheltenham’s residents and visitors will perceive a significant enhancement of a prominent intersection situated midway between the town centre and Pittville Park. The site will be coherent and attractive. As a ‘grand entrance’ it will become once more a significant Cheltenham landmark, encouraging more people to use it, to make a special visit and to linger there. Overall, it will improve the area for the benefit of residents, local businesses and the nearby Holst Birthplace Museum.

• A Grade 2-listed structure important in the history of the development of Cheltenham’s architecture and amenities in Regency and Victorian times will be restored to its former glory.
