Pittville Gates Restoration Project – Phase 2

Cheltenham’s residents and visitors will perceive a significant enhancement of a prominent intersection between the town centre and Pittville Park. The site will be coherent and attractive, encouraging more pedestrians to use the route. As a ‘grand entrance’ it will become once again a Cheltenham landmark to be proud of. People will want to visit and linger there, learning about Pittville and its place in Cheltenham’s history. It will improve the area for the benefit of residents, local businesses and visitors. As an attraction, it will complement the nearby Holst Birthplace Museum, All Saints’ Church and Pittville Park.
A Grade 2-listed structure, important in the development of Cheltenham’s architecture and amenities in Regency and Victorian times, will be restored to its former glory.
The ‘greening’ of the surroundings of the Gates will benefit people and wildlife and bring the environment of the Park closer to the town centre.
