Places for People and Pollinators

The project aim is to improve a defined area of Ashurst Beacon and Beacon Country Park (in West Lancashire) ecologically and environmentally and to recognise its importance for people and wildlife. Ashurst Beacon and the directly adjacent park represent a coherent site; it is an important ecological and cultural feature in West Lancashire linking rural and urban areas, a significant vantage point and provides connectivity in a landscape of different habitats, features and heritage.
Valuable habitats for species of local and regional importance will be created and restored and access for people provided. Interpretation will acknowledge heritage and its links to the current landscape / ecology.
