Plan bee – Phase 2

The Plan Bee project became active in West Lancs with the appointment of the Plan Bee Project Officer from April 2014; the project has carried out direct works (habitat creation / management) on 7 sites and worked with 12 community groups to conserve Bees. This phase will extend the project until the end Feb’17 working on a range of 15 sites throughout the project area that have been identified in the first two years – potential direct works have also been identified but not yet carried out. Groups including schools will undertake direct works on sites – planting seeds, plugs and pots of plants, incorporating bee features with bushcraft activities, creating art and interpretation – and the Project Officer will work with community groups through the Ecumenical Centre, West Lancs CVS and West Lancs ARC CIC networks.
The project will be delivered alongside another LCF funded project, Plan Bee, 025077.186 (registered 29/11/2012) and 341010.455 (registered 12/11/2013).
