Platforms for people at the Avenue Washlands nature reserve

This project involves the provision and installation of a large pond dipping platform, with safety sign, access steps, a wheelchair path and fencing – these will be installed by staff and volunteers. The platform will be located at a cattle drinking pond which is accessible from an existing trail. The 50 metre wheelchair path will lead from the trail to the pond and the fencing will ensure that the public are separated from any livestock on site.

The platform will be available for schools and other groups wishing to learn about the aquatic life present at The Avenue in a safe, manageable environment.
