Play Area Improvement Project, Friends of Wollescote Park/Dudley MBC

This is a project to improve the existing play area in Wollescote Park, making it accessible to children of widening age-ranges and abilities. To make the area inclusive, it is proposed to replace the ageing junior swings with new swings, including a basket swing, and to replace the existing roundabout with one suitable for a wheelchair user. The addition of a balance trail, spinning cone and springy offers greater stimulating outdoor play for older children and sets out to promote interactive play, co-operation, and the development of social skills for children who have been negatively impacted by isolation during Covid lockdowns.
