Playscape at King George’s Field

The project aims to convert a run-down playground with traditional play equipment into an innovative play landscape which, rather than wasting space between items of play equipment, uses contours in the land and natural features such as boulders to allow children to use their imaginations and play within the whole landscape.

Playscape aims to provide a space for all ages that encourages engagement with natural surroundings and taking acceptable levels of ‘controlled’ risk.

Using sustainable materials as much as possible, the playground hopes to act as an example, encouraging a more natural approach to play.
