Pleasley Pit Restoration and Interpretation Project

This project will allow us to secure the future of Pleasley Pit, a unique Scheduled Ancient Monument, through restoration and improvement works and enable us to collate, digitise and interpret a broad range of mining artefacts and historical information. As one of the last remaining pit heads, this project will be significant in protecting this important industrial heritage for the future. Restoration works will include replacement and protection of bricks and steelwork to strengthen the structure of the building and protect the artefacts within.
