Pollarding and tree work at Abbey Fishponds

This wetland nature reserve contains reedbed, fen and wet meadow. The drier ground contains taller plants, scrub and woodland. Reed buntings and damselflies have been recorded here, and it is a very popular community reserve. Tree work and pollarding is necessary to maintain the diverse habitat, and to ensure that it is safe and easily accessible to the many visitors who enjoy walking there.
