Polmont Woodland Biodiversity Enhancement

Polmont woods is a heavily used public amenity owned by Falkirk Council. This project specifically addresses the enhancement of a hedgerow habitat, ie a heavily overgrown hedge along the main path, which will be iayed to increase it’s biodiversity amenity. This will be facilitated by an expert trainer, who will teach and guide volunteers to perform the work

The Secondary habitat to be enhanced is the woodland ie
eradication of Invasive species such as Rhododendron Ponticum and non-native tree saplings such as beech and sycamore.

The award will allow volunteers to perform these important Conservation tasks.
