Pomphrey Hill Community Sports Association – Restoration of Pomphrey Path

There is a 50m to 100m hillside section of the path (‘Up Pomphrey!’) that becomes an ankle deep quagmire in the winter months.
The project will replenish the woodchip along the entire length of the existing path. It will also dig out at least the very worst 50m of the hillside section, put in a free draining base course and geotextile sheeting, install drainage grips, and then cover with woodchip.
Through this the path will be restored to a good condition and the addition of drainage on the key section will allow it to be maintained in good condition for many years to come. We have found a company that will supply smaller quantities of wood chip from time to time for free in the future so that the path will be able to be topped up as necessary after the major restoration project completes.
