Poor’s Allotment Nature Reserve

To revert a landscape of bracken to heather rich acid grassland grazed with traditional and rare breeds of sheep, cows and ponies.
To rejuvenate woodland compartments
To release suppressed coppice and characterful standard trees through halo thinning, coppicing and fencing to recover the ancient woodland flora.
To initiate a European Protected Species (dormice) monitoring programme with local volunteers . To restore ponds and streams to encourage lost marginal bog plants, dragonflies and newts.
To monitor and assess bird usage to enhance and protect use by nightjar and Jack snipe.
