Poppleton Centre is Out o’ Space

The project aims to provide extend and improve the space available at the Poppleton Centre by providing fittings for the two new activity rooms and lobby including the windows; the doors; a sprung floor; the aircon/heating, and decorating.
The project will be constructed to current building regulations, with the onus on a well insulated envelope, low maintenance facing materials and utilising the existing solar PV arrays to offset grid power. All heating is specified as electric to accord with this approach. Lighting will all be low-energy LED, and intelligent controls [PIR detectors] utilised in occasional use areas [cupboards etc.] to ensure power consumption is reduced wherever possible. Timber is to be FSC [or equal] certified. Materials waste is to be kept minimal, any residual waste from site to be collected by certified [WAMITAB or equal] waste management company with the onus on recycling of waste. The building will have an SBEM energy assessment carried out by a suitably qualified assessor.
