Portgordon Village Hall Committee – Renovation Project Phase 1

The Village Hall Committee is looking to refurbish the ground floor of the village hall to enable disabled access and a general increase use of the building. The Main Hall floor was deemed unsafe due to rotten wood timbers and became out of use while emergency works was carried out to restore the flooring and was paid out from the Committee’s own reserves. Further work is required to an aging building to bring the building up to standard for community use. An Architect has been appointed to produce some drawings for a long term aspiration to extend the building. However short-medium term significant renovation work is required which includes: Insulation works, A Heating System, new windows to improve insulation and new electrics installed throughout. The second phase would include a new ground floor extension to introduce a new meeting/café area a refurbished kitchen to allow on site catering and the realignment of the toilets to install a new disabled toilet to comply with DDA regulations.
