Portishead Methodist Church, Bristol – Community hub (007124)

The project aim is to renovate two large downstairs rooms to create a Community Hub, which includes a cafe area and an additional meeting room. Currently these rooms are breeze-block faced and un-plastered. There is no natural light and limited air circulation. The first room, which would form the Hub and cafe area, two sets of glass double doors would be put in would open out onto the courtyard area. The second room, which is adjacent to the first, would become a meeting room for use by the community. This would be opened up to enable natural light in and much improved ventilation.
