Preservation of the Neville Coat of Arms and the Durham Shield on Palace Green

The Exchequer Building dates from the mid 15th Century and was constructed during the Bishopric of Robert Neville whose Coat of Arms and Crest can be seen on the main façade. The function of the Exchequer Building was to administer the Bishop's legal and financial transactions.
