Projects / Primrose Island at William Edwards

Primrose Island at William Edwards

To clear overgrown vegetation and young trees around Primrose Island, to allow more light and air into the very large pond around it, thereby enabling fish stocks to recover. This pond is in turn adjacent to a wooded area, which contains a replica Saxon hut; the entire area is well fenced within the grounds of William Edwards School, easily accessible to other users. The whole area will be used as a learning resource by the school and by other groups, with angling on the pond once fish stocks have recovered.

This project is proportionally approved for up to 59% of the total project cost.
