Project OverHall

The Project is Phase 3 of a wider scheme, the installation of:

A modern efficient heating system that will ensure that the facilities are more effectively used all year, especially by the young, the elderly or vulnerable members of our community. The intention is to replace the existing ineffective, and wasteful wall-mounted radiant heaters with a new boiler and under-floor hot water heating system in the building. [A later phase of the development will augment this system with a ground-source heat pump, further reducing the environmental impact and running costs of the hall.]

Installation of the under-floor heating also provides the opportunity to replace the existing, easily damaged, floor of the main hall with a durable, multi-use surface suitable for dancing, indoor sports and general social use. The current flooring prevents the hall from being used for a range of events, eg wedding receptions, and other important community functions, thereby losing good sources of income
