Project Usk,River Restoration

The project will restore the riparian and river habitats of the key (SSSI/SAC) Usk tributaries by fencing out stock and tree management (we rely on natural regeneration which is highly succesful in this context) and remove barriers to migration for salmonids. The benefits of restoring the function and structure to these interconnected, linking habitats are that a relatively small amount of land taken out of production benefits a large amount of habitat and a wide range of species. There are knock on benefits down and upstream and is good value for expenditure.

The Foundation will be using its own workforce to fence out the streams and construct fish pass

Recording will be via BARS
