Protecting the Large Blue Butterfly on the Polden Hills

The aim of the project is to restore and improve downland habitats on the Polden Hills for the benefit of vulnerable species, especially the Large Blue Butterfly re- introduced after extinction in 1976. A large part of this site had been planted with conifers. Although these have now been felled, much restoration work remains to be done.
