Protecting the peewit

We aim to improve the biodiversity of Woodhouse Washlands local nature reserve with the main aim being to encourage peewit to breed successfully on the site. Using the peewit as a key species, one familiar to everyone and yet suffering serious problems, we hope to engage the local community with the site through a series of events, teach local volunteers conservation management techniques such as hedge laying and improve the nature reserve for both people and wildlife.
