Provision of a Pontoon

Replacement of the current pontoon which is over 30 years old and no longer fit for purpose. The pontoon is utilised by water users including the Rowing Club, Ashington Sea Cadets, Wansbeck Paddle and Canoe Club, and Northern Stand Up Paddleboard. At low water levels it is proving difficult to access the river, with potential to damage boats and canoes. The new pontoon will be a community asset ensuring safe and accessible access for all users year round.
