Provision of Environmentally Sound Effluent System for Waste Water. Toilets and Showers at Public Sports Ground

Evesham Cricket Club ground is also used for Rugby Football, Bowls, Junior Soccer and general recreation and has the only cricket squares, Rugby pitches and bowling green for public use in Evesham. Use of the ground is open to all under the aegis of Evesham Sports Club at all appropriate times in return for membership or a modest hire charge, and the ground is also used by Schools and County youth teams. Improvements to the ground and facilities have been funded by previous LCF projects. The ground is next to the River Avon and floods frequently. The existing sewage and waste water system is unsatisfactory in that it represents a hazard to the environment, especially but not only at time of flood. After looking at every option and taking expert advice, it is evident that the only environmentally acceptable system is to lay pipework and pump to the main sewer at the nearest point on the public highway (Albert Rd, approx 400m)
