Provision of off road parking and safer pedestrian access to football playing fields

The project is intended to resolve serious congestion problems and road safety hazards created by insufficient parking availability on a minor road adjacent to 2 football pitches. On match days, spectators and parents off-loading and collecting children and parking on the minor road create very congested conditions. There is no pedestrian footway and both players and spectators have to share the roadway with moving traffic, creating a real risk of accidents. We propose to construct an off road car park within one of our rented football fields. From this car park we will provide a safe footpath, within the football field, leading to a new road crossing point to the adjoining pitch. This should minimise the need for parking on the roadway and provide safe access to both football fields for players and their families. The landowner has funded the site fencing and has signed a rental agreement with the club giving use of the site for 10 years.
