Pulborough Brooks and Amberley Wild brooks arable

Pulborough Brooks has six ha of arable crop that it farms in as wildlife friendly a way as possible. This includes spring sowing, planting crops with bird friendly seeds mix and the creation of ‘beetle banks’ that provide important nectar sources for rare invertebrates. This approach to arable farming provides winter food sources for mammals, birds and invertebrates and improved nesting chances for farmland specialist species such as skylarks, linnet and yellow hammer.
