Purbeck Important Ponds Project

The project will deliver UK Pond Habitat Action Plan targets in Purbeck, Dorset by identifying priority ponds, and restoring / creating ponds to increase total pond habitat area and landscape connectivity. Workshops and training programmes will give landowners and community members a better understanding of the value of ponds in Purbeck, and how to manage and enhance them into the future. Demonstration projects will be carried out and further pond creation schemes supported and future management plans set up. The project will inspire individuals and communities to take action to enhance and create ponds and manage them into the long term.
