Purchase of 11 acres of unimproved grassland between the villages of Shirenewton and Mynyddbach

To purchase 11 acres of unimproved grassland which is of very high biodiversity value. To fence the field and to reintroduce traditional hay meadow management to restore the site to its previous condition and to improve and enhance its biodiversity. To improve paths, stiles and gates to improve public access – the site is walked by dozens of local residents every day. The field is next to the local primary school. The intention of the association is to use the nature reserve as a resource for an extensive education programme aimed at both children and adults.
