Purchase of Camps Heath Marshes

The project will support the purchase of Camps Heath Marshes, 18ha of marsh and fen leased by the Trust and part of our 149ha Carlton-Oulton Marshes reserve, to secure its future as wildlife habitat. The purchase will secure 18ha of UKBAP habitat, including: • Fen • Grazing marsh • Eutrophic open water (dykes) BAP species recorded at Camps Heath Marshes which will be safeguarded by the land purchase: • Water snail (Segmentina nitida) • Norfolk Hawker (Aeschna isosceles) • Otter (Lutra lutra) • Water vole (Arvicola terrestris) • Water shrew (Neomys fodiens) • Reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) • Barn owl (Tyto alba) • Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) • Common toad (Bufo bufo) • Common lizard (Lacerta vivipara) • Grass snake (Natrix natrix)
